Actually, in Japanese it's "Hamutaro to Fushigi no Oni no Ehon Tou", which translates to "Hamtaro and the Mysterious Ogre's Picture Book Tower". The movie is based off of an old Japanese folk tale called Momotarou, which means Peach Boy. In the Hamtaro version, they change it to Himawaritarou, which mean Sunflower Boy. XD Anyways, you can read the story it's based off of here: people.creighton.edu/~bls65752/peachboy.html
